The Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) is an institutional grant designed to help students from low-income households by covering the costs of tuition and fees. The grant does not cover the cost of your textbook. TPEG funds do not have to be repaid.

TPEG grant monies are available to students wanting to take Computer Job Skills, the GED Prep course, and the course to train for Certified Nurse Aide. To find out more about these courses, please see information below or call 281.459.7119.

Computer Job Skills

Computer Job Skills is a 128 hour course designed to prepare students for entry level clerical and administrative assistant positions. Classes are held 4 days per week, 4 hours per day, and are offered in the morning as well as evening hours. Students receive instruction in keyboarding, computer operating systems (MS Windows), word processing (MS Word), and spreadsheets (MS Excel). In addition, an overview of the Internet and PowerPoint is presented.

Along with these computer skills, life skills necessary to obtain employment are introduced - such as building a winning resume, job interview techniques, and dressing for success. A tour of our job placement office is given to the class, and there they are able and encouraged to visit and seek job opportunities.
